Grid Girl's Block Party

Grid Girls Block Party (GGBP) is a series of classes on the use of Creative Grids rulers. Did you purchase a ruler, but have forgotten how and when to use it? Or, are you looking for new and fun tools? In this Class you will master all of the tools used in the Grids Girls Block Party Patterns as well as many others. No pre-cutting required. You will come in with your machine and basic sewing supplies and leave with a block in hand and the knowledge of how to use an awesome new tool and be able to create another block or the whole quilt. Sign up for one class or all!

Patchwork of the Crosses English Paper Piecing Class


Fun new class featuring a portable project that uses lots of small scraps! This group focuses on English Paper Piecing while working on the gorgeous Patchwork of the Crosses quilt. Each month you will learn quick techniques for basting fabric to paper templates, fussy cutting fabric, and discover the fun of “designing” with these small shapes. Learn to piece shapes together for absolute accuracy. Fun, easy, addictive!

Jelly Roll Rug.png


Jelly Roll Rug Class

 What a fun way to use a jelly roll. This class is two sessions long – we will make the tube in the first class, and start stitching the rug in the second class. A zig-zag sewing machine is required. Makes a 33” x 44” rug!

Beginning Quilting

Do you know someone who has voiced, while ooo'ing and ah'ing over your work, that they wished they knew how to quilt? Do you have a friend, family member or coworker who you would love to see learn the art? Now is their chance! With Muriel's class they will finish with the basics firmly grasped and a large lap sized throw.

Ph.D Group

Class Overview (2 Class Hours/Session)

Feeling overwhelmed by the fabric and UFOs you have in your stash? Want to see them disappear? This is the class for you! Start with a list of PhDs (Projects Half Done), come to class, and let Muriel help you with the problem areas, whether it’s design help, brushing up on skills, using specialty rulers, or just getting motivated to finish something. Each month will also include lots of tips, shortcuts, and inspiration. Finish all your projects by the end of the year to earn your PhD degree in quilting!

• Bring a list of 10 – 12 UFO projects you’d like to finish in 2020.

• Bring one of your UFOs to work on in class

• Bring any Fabric, Cutting Tools, Sewing Supplies, etc. you’ll need to work on the UFO you’re bringing to class.

Advanced Applique Class 

In this three hour class, learn many techniques to improve your needle-turn appliqué while working on Baltimore-style appliqué blocks. You will also learn techniques for adding dimensional appliqué, and many embellishing techniques, such as embroidery, inking, beading, ribbon embroidery and fabric painting to enhance your blocks. Must have a working knowledge of needle-turn appliqué – this is not a beginner class.

Beginner's Paper Piecing

Lisa Showalter is back with a new Beginner's Paper Piecing class! If you've ever been interested in paper piecing, this is the class for you. This is just enough to hopefully wet your appetite for more. We will piece together a 6" Mariner's Compass Block.

Muriel's Charm School is Back in Session!

You’ll be charmed, I’m sure, with all the things you can do with 5” charm packs! Each month will present a new project to use up those charms. Fun and easy! Scrappy Charm School projects are great stash busters. Use a wide variety of fabric scraps – any color or fabric style will work - to create your own charming cottage-style quilt. And no charm school would be complete without a few Southern-style etiquette lessons thrown in. Old-fashioned ‘charming’ fun!

Blackbird Club

When the cold winds start blowing, it’s time to make quilts! Join us for a fun, monthly club that will focus on making the beautiful quilts and projects inspired by autumn and winter months from the book “When the Cold Wind Blows” by popular Blackbird Designs. Classes will focus on learning appliqué techniques to make the featured quilt, but will also include cross-stitch, wool appliqué, and maybe even some rug hooking!

Prairie Women's Sewing Circle

Overview: 2 hours per month

A unique, monthly club that will take you on a journey back in time as we explore life along the Oregon Trail. Gather together as the Prairie Women did, and hear anecdotal stories about their quiltmaking, and what daily life was like for those who traveled by wagon train. Each month we will be working on quilt projects from The Prairie Women Sewing Circle pattern set designed by Pam Buda. At each monthly gathering you will receive a new quilt project pattern along with tips, techniques, and shortcuts for making the quilts. We will also experience pioneer life in a fun way with stories, food samples, and an old-fashioned quilting bee-type atmosphere. Muriel's Featherweight Club

I'm not here to start anything but featherweights are the best. There, I said it. ;)


Bring your Featherweight Sewing Machine and get together with other Featherweight owners to learn fun facts and tips about your machine, learn how to service it, figure out how to use some of the attachments, and have fun working on quick, easy, small projects perfect for sewing on a small machine.

Lori Holt Club

Class Overview:

Get together with friends and have fun working on projects from popular quilt designer, Lori Holt. Projects vary, but but each month you will learn tips, techniques, and shortcuts for making some of Lori’s favorite quilts. Have fun collecting Lori Holt fabrics, learning from demos, stitching up a masterpiece, participating in show & tell, and more! Above all, you will treasure your quilting friendships. We will be starting the “My Happy Place” Sew Along in September. Bring a project you’re currently working on to the August class.

M&Ms (Muriel's Materials Club)

Muriel has a huge stash of materials and you're going to love seeing how she attempts to use it up for this club! Each month you will get a new quilt project with tips, techniques, and shortcuts for making the quilts. Emphasis will be on showing you how to use YOUR stash materials in new and creative ways. In addition, you will be encouraged to finish some of the UFO's you have tucked away. And, for a sweet reward, you will also get a delicious pie recipe each month! So, tie on your apron and join us for food and fun in an old-fashioned quilting bee-type atmosphere. This is an on-going club that meets monthly. No need to bring a sewing machine to class, but you are encouraged to bring a hand project to work on if you'd like.

Jennifer Chiaverini Book Club

Class Overview (2 Class Hours/month): 

For those of you who love to read, this is the perfect quilt class! Read a fun book, discuss women’s issues (aka a quilter’s therapy session), and make a quilt – this club has it all! We will be reading a charming series of books by Jennifer Chiaverini (only one book each 4-month session) about friendships and maybe some new things about quilting. In September, we begin the book “The Master Quilter”. I know you’ll enjoy all the new adventures of your favorite characters, as well as meeting some new characters. In addition to a book discussion, we’ll be making Sylvia’s Bridal Quilt – a beautiful collection of sampler blocks. Make one block, or make them all! Sign up today so you won’t miss any of the fun as we start this new book in a fun series!
